The Girl And The Moon has risen!

The Girl And The Moon has risen in the west - in America to be precise ... and Canada.

Two more days before its light bathes us in the UK (28th April).

If you've been waiting to read them all in one go ... stop waiting.

Here are some handy links for the lazy - but do try to get along to a bookshop!

Amazon UK
Amazon US
Super cheap signed UK copy from Forbidden Planet (£12.99 + p&p)
Signed and numbered UK edition + art print from Anderida Books
Signed US copy from VJ Books

If you've been reading along as we go - very many thanks. There's a catch-up at the start of the book to refresh your memory of the story so far.

Here's how the Books of the Ice and Ancestor overlap!

This is - and it amazes me to say it - my 15th published book!

You can totally enjoy The Girl And The Moon having only read the two other books in the trilogy. Enthusiastic 5* reviews on Goodreads show this to be true.
There are, however, subtle and not so subtle call outs to all of my other books. So, if you're a Lawrenceologist, go to it!

What's next?

Hopefully you'll be pleased to know that I have a book deal with my usual publishers (Voyager and Ace) for another trilogy, to be published in 2023,2024, and 2025!

This will be something completely new, and since I'm about a third of the way through the last book, I expect to have all three written before the first one goes on sale (as I usually do).

My publishers, beta reader, and test readers are all really excited about this one!

The first entry is called The Book That Wouldn't Burn, and the setting is a vast, ancient library.

  1. I don't know if I have a favorite series of yours yet. I do know that each of the three Broken Empire 'cosmere'(Earth and Abeth) trilogies rank individually in every one of my 'Top 10' lists. Yaz has been my favorite protagonist so far. The Book of Ice trilogy has been my favorite world building so far. The Girl and the Moon has my favorite / most frustrating ending yet.

The final chapters of TGATM are more of a tease than any OnlyFans content creator(or so I hear). Not cool. I don't know which branch the next trilogy is following, but I truly hope it continues to involve an *spoilers* 'old friend'. Don't leave us with blue-brain. Ancestor, the wait will be unbearable. Is there any publicly available information about the direction of the next series?

Also, the 'Fire of the Gods'? Is just a literary reference/joke by you, just a continuation of Mediterranean mythology, or rather something deeper, more 'prophetical' / foreshadowing? Either there is some wacky time / prophecy stuff going on as far as the naming of a certain 'Missing', or .... I'm not sure. I assumed the prologue of TGATStars was about that same 'Missing', and its been a while sense I've read it, but I'm not sure how they knew to name him his new name.

I'm rambling. All I wanted to say was, great job! An excellent series, one I recommend to all my friends and family who weren't down with 'The Broken Empire'. If they read 'TBE', I had already hounded them about the release dates of The Book of Ice trilogy, so they're in the 'know'.

    The very entertained,
    True Martin

P.s. The Book of Ice had the best cover art (UK && US)

  2. I'm in the middle of The Girl and the Moon and haven't been able to figure out its place in the Ancestor timeline. Is it long after Nona's time?
