It would be interesting to meet and discuss writing with other authors on the autism spectrum; I find that unless I have the right music on for the right scene I cannot write at all, and also need to be in the right frame of mind for different characters. I bounce back and forth between chapters writing different sections for this very reason. I wonder if anyone else does the same thing?

Melissa A. I won't even use the phone to order a pizza and I only freely call close family members where I know what to expect. I think you are probably spot on about some authors, though they may not appreciate the comparison. I think of some people with Aspergers being a lot like crime profilers. They analyze the statements and behavior of others dispassionately while attempting to understand social interaction (with sometimes unpredictable results). Anyone who has this tendency and can translate their internal model onto the page can create some surprisingly complex and deep stories!Janishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02097182907898344684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3529725084811715233.post-63987467380763341442018-11-26T08:48:30.475-08:002018-11-26T08:48:30.475-08:00Thanks for this post. I would say that I'm an introvert and most people would say the same for me as well, but I hate calling people and I get so anxious at the idea of meeting or talking to people I don't already know. I also get anxious calling family members and close friends that I keep putting it off. I don't consider myself on the spectrum at all, so I think some of these anxieties are universal. I can't settle on a concrete idea and when I do I get halfway through and think, maybe it will be better told this way, or that, or this.....and when I do manage to get a book one written, as soon as I reach a problem with book 2 I try to change the idea up. So that's how it effects me. AndrewPeterGilfellonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16398120174629887502noreply@blogger.com
