As a dual national from birth and having been an American for longer than most Americans ... it's not so much that I want fewer UK sales as that I'd like more US ones :)
To be strictly accurate, these figures also include Canada under the US sales, and Australia and New Zealand under UK sales.
I'd be interested to see just how much of those sales Canada accounts for. I'd bet our ratio is much closer to the UK than the US.ReplyDelete
Are you saying you're selling 6 times as many books than there are UK citizens?! Great job! ^_^ReplyDelete
On-topic: Do you believe marketing has a lot to do with that? Marketing approach in the US can be very different I imagine?
Whatever marketing may (or may not) occur it happens early on and its impact is short-lived. Prince of Thorns is selling well after 5 years, and it's selling itself ... but in much lower per-captia numbers in the US.Delete
To be fair a large percentage of the UK population can read.Delete
Joking aside I have just been given a copy of Prince of thorns and loved it. Prior to that I have never heard of you (sorry). Rob UK
Do you have any ideas why this might be happening? It's quite a bit of a difference...ReplyDelete
I don't have any evidence to support the various possible reasons.Delete
