Congratulations to all!

Despite The Wheel of Osheim managing a measly finalist place, I did get a surprise compensation for the second year in a row in the form of the Stabby for favourite active author on r/fantasy. So HOORAY! Many thanks to everyone ... I promise to only use it on people who annoy me in any way at all.

Reddit r/fantasy has 145,000 members (up from 85,000 last year and 69,000 the year before) and is the most active fantasy forum on the internet. Well worth checking out - though the interface is a steep learning curve at first.

  1. I had never even heard of this award. I'm going to have to check out the nominees and expand my library. Can I say that I also love that it's called the "stabby award" complete with a dagger. :) Too awesome!

  3. I don't know if this is the right place to ask.
Will be other books of yours outside prince of thorns translated in romanian?
I read Jors's trilogy in english but i'd like to have them in my native language.

    1. You would have to ask Editura Trei. I know that they offered for the rights to all three books and were accepted. Sometimes a foreign publisher decides not to spend money translating the next book in a series if not enough readers bought the first.

    2. Update: Although Editura Trei have paid for the rights to King of Thorns (& are contracted to pay for the rights to Emperor of Thorns) they won't be publishing the books as sales of Prince of Thorns were too low.

This is part of a vicious circle where publishers abandon series at book 1 because of low sales so readers refuse to buy series until all the books are published, so there are low sales (return to the beginning).

Since the trilogy has sold over a million copies world wide there is always the chance it will return to Romania at some point with a different publisher.
